Sherri Riveron
JD, South Texas College of Law, 2001
BA Political Science, Baylor University, 1985
Sherri Riveron brings over 20 years of public sector experience to her role as President of Riveron Corp. She saw a gap in public services that was not being met for local governments and non-profits, and an opportunity to fill the gap by helping them to access federal and state government funding.
Since 2005, Ms. Riveron has successfully worked with a number of funding sources to develop over $300 million in public sector projects with over $245 million in externally-funded awards (excluding ongoing revenue-generating programs).
Ms. Riveron's experience, familiarity with federal regulations, and ability to identify and develop non-traditional methods of project funding where there are limited resources and a high level of scrutiny make her a strategic asset in project development.
Ms. Riveron holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law, where she was awarded the David Donnelly Award for exemplary character, perseverance and legal ability, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Baylor University. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas. She has written Texas legislation and Legislative Budget Board financial impact statements for the City of Houston explaining the impact of proposed laws affecting federal and state grant funding and revenue activities. She has served on the Board of Directors of a local management district, and has served by appointment of the Mayor of Houston to the Houston-Galveston Area Council, Criminal Justice Committee for evaluating and selecting criminal justice grants.
Ms. Riveron has been selected by the Texas General Land Office, and previously the Texas Department of Rural Affairs, as a pre-approved grant administrator to assist local communities with the administration of $3.1 billion in U.S. HUD disaster recovery funds allocated to the State of Texas. Riveron Corp. has also been certified to administer transportation projects through the State of Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Local Government Project Procedures (LGPP) program.
